It is a <br />primary focus of the City to provide events that will create urban vitality and attract more people <br />to the downtown core. Many of the events involve amplified music or other forms of noise. <br />Typically each year,the list of events is presented to Council, to identify those which will require <br />a noise exemption due to the nature of the event. As such, staff have requested permission for <br />various events taking place from May to December 2019. The list of downtown events is <br />REPORT: <br />There are several events listed as being located in Victoria Park. There havebeen some <br />concerns relating to noise from neighbouring residents, By-law Enforcement and Special Events <br />staffhaveworked with the Victoria Park Working Groupas well as residentsover the years,to <br />discuss their concerns with some of the events in the Park. As a result, we have had nominal <br />complaints in the last few years and it appears that the Group are satisfied that controls are in <br />place to manage the types of issues that have arisen in the past. <br />Special Events staff will be present at all events, which allows for a point of contact between <br />them and By-law Enforcement staff, in the event that an issue arises that needs to be addressed. <br />***This information is available in accessible formats upon request. *** <br />Please call 519-741-2345 or TTY 1-866-969-9994for assistance. <br />1 - 1 <br />
