The multiple <br />residential developmentreceived Site Plan Approval in Principle fora 54unit stacked <br />townhouse development in September2019. The subject development will be designed to <br />front onto the public street, however all vehicular access will befrom the named private lane. <br />Staff anticipates that additional multiple developments on Block 2, 58M-632 and Blocks 186 <br />and 187 on plan 58M-631 will be designed in a similar fashion and will seek street names for <br />private lanes in the future. The applicant has indicated that names for future blocks have also <br />been reserved for this purpose by the Region of Waterloo. <br />Private Street Naming Request <br />The applicant is proposing to name the private streetshown on the plan below “Wheat Lane”. <br />The naming of the private streetswilleliminate the need for aMultiple Unit Identification Sign <br />at the entrance to the site, and offers improvedsite navigation for emergency services, <br />residents and visitors. <br />The proposal has been circulated to a number of internal departments and no concerns were <br />raised. The dwellingswill be addressed in accordance with the City’s Street Naming and <br />Addressing Policy. The Region has approved the proposed street name.
