Hagey, Director, Financial Planning P.Grivicic, Chief of Staff B. Bennett, Manager, Business Development D. Saunderson, Committee Administrator 1.DRAFT 2021BUDGET -PUBLIC CONSULTATION S. Davey provided opening remarks noting the session this date was to receive feedback from the public on the proposed2021 Budget.The Committee was in receipt this date of a presentation entitled “Public Budget Meeting” dated December 14, 2020, prepared by Iain Klugman, Communitech. Iain Klugman, Communitech, expressed appreciation for the continued support and partnership with the City of Kitchener. He provided on the work that Communitech has completed in 2020 specifically theinitiatives undertaken related to theglobal pandemic and responded to questions from the Committee.I. Klugman expressed support for the leadership of the City, specifically in relation to the Downtown Cycling Grid and the Make it Kitchener 2.0 Strategy, noting cities that attract and retain people are communities that will succeed. TonyLaMantia, Waterloo Economic Development Corporation (WEDC),provided an overview of the WEDC including,but not limited to the following: key highlights for 2020;$111M investment within the community; 164+ jobs created; and, refocusing supply chain localization. T.LaMantiaindicated Waterloo EDC will continue to support talent retention and attraction for the Region andexpressed appreciation for the continued support and partnership with the City of Kitchener through the 2021Budget. 2.ADJOURNMENT On motion, this meeting adjourned at 6:18p.m. D.
