MARCH 8, 2023 CITY OF KITCHENER
The Compass Kitchener Advisory Committee met this date, commencing at 4:05 p.m.
Present: J. Stephens -Wells, Chair
K. Brabazon, A. Forstmanis, L. Terry, L. Thompson, W. Rahimi, L. Trumper and J. Young.
Staff: A. Fritz -Walters, Engagement Program Manager — Strategic Planning
1. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF - NIL
2. 2022 CITIZEN REPORT CARD EVALUATION
Compass Kitchener reviewed a summary document outlining the Committee's evaluations of the
following completed 2022 Strategic Plan projects:
• Huron Community Centre;
• Energy Reserve Fund;
• Urban Forest Strategy / Tree Canopy;
• Set and Communicate Service Levels; and,
• Waste Diversion Strategy re Public Spaces/Events.
Information reviewed included highlights of the work done and accomplishments in each project
and an indication of whether the project was delivered on time and on budget. Additionally,
based on the sub -group evaluation of each project, a rating of `exceeds expectations,' `meets
expectations' or `does not meet expectations' was determined. Comments related to future work
in the sphere of each project under review were also provided.
A roundtable discussion was held regarding the summary content with edits incorporated as
determined by the Committee. A revised version of the summary will be shared back with
Compass Kitchener members prior to the scheduled April 5th workshop with the Corporate
Leadership Team. Following the April 5th workshop, Compass Kitchener will finalize the 2022
Citizen Report Card and a presentation will be made to City Council.
3. 2019-2022 STRATEGIC PLAN — FINAL COMMENTS
Compass Kitchener held a discussion regarding their overall observations concerning the 2019-
2022 Strategic Plan and also shared feedback on items to consider moving forward. These
reflections will be included as part of the staff report prepared to accompany the 2022 Citizen
Report Card.
4. CORPORATE LEADERSHIP TEAM WORKSHOP — Q & A / PLANNING
A brief discussion was held regarding the format for the April 5, 2023 workshop with the
Corporate Leadership Team to have a comprehensive discussion concerning the 2022 Citizen
Report Card prior to its finalization and subsequent presentation to Council.
5. OTHER BUSINESS
The minutes of the Compass Kitchener meeting held February 1, 2023 were reviewed.
6. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
