REPORT NO.:
CRPS-10-046
SUBJECT:
REQUEST TO OPERATE HOT DOG CART AT 106 STOKE
DRIVE DURING ANNUAL COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE -
MAY 1, 2010
RECOMMENDATION:
That the request of Zbigniew Wilk to operate a hot dog cart at 106 Stoke Drive during the annual
Community Garage Sale on May 1, 2010, be approved, provided the necessary licence is
obtained including Health & Fire approvals.
BACKGROUND:
A request has been received from Zbigniew Wilk for permission to operate a hot dog cart during
the Community Garage Sale held in the area of Stoke Drive. He has received permission from
the home owner at 106 Stoke Drive to locate his cart on their driveway during the day of the
sale.
REPORT:
This is a residential area and would not normally permit this type of operation. Also, Chapter
586 (Refreshment Vehicles) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code does not permit a licence to
be issued until Council approval has been obtained.
Council has approved similar requests in the past.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
