REPORT NO.:
CRPS-10-047
SUBJECT:
REQUEST TO SELL REFRESHMENTS - WOOLWICH
WHITEHAWKS UNDER 16 SOCCER TEAM DURING
BEECHWOOD FOREST COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE - 19
TRELAWNEY STREET - MAY 1, 2010
RECOMMENDATION:
That the request of the Woolwich Whitehawks Under 16 Girl’s Soccer Team to sell refreshments
at 19 Trelawney Street during the Beechwood Forest Community Garage Sale on May 1, 2010,
be approved, provided the necessary licence is obtained including Health approval.
BACKGROUND:
A request has been received from Lucy Battiston on behalf of the Woolwich Whitehawks Under
16 girls soccer team requesting permission to sell refreshments during the annual Beechwood
Forest Community Garage Sale at 19 Trelawney Street on May 1, 2010. They have received
permission from the homeowner at 19 Trelawney Street.
REPORT:
The team wishes to raise funds to allow them to participate in tournaments representing the
area both in Canada and the U.S.
This is a residential area and would not normally permit these type of sales. Also, Chapter 586
(Refreshment Vehicles) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code does not permit a licence to be
issued until Council approval has been obtained.
Council has approved similar requests in the past.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
.
