HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil - 2010-05-10 SSPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 10, 2010 CITY OF KITCHENER A special meeting of City Council was held at 6:41 p. m. this date, chaired by Mayor C. Zehr with all members present except Councillor G. Lorentz. Notice of this meeting had been previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code. Council considered a recommendation arising from the Finance & Corporate Services Committee meeting held this date concerning a noise exemption request relating to Downtown street cleaning. Moved by Councillor B. Vrbanovic Seconded by Councillor J. Smola "That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to Beeta Restoration to undertake cleaning of the streets and sidewalks in the Downtown Core between the hours of 10:00 p. m. and 7:00 a. m. from May 10 to May 21, 2010." Carried. Moved by Councillor C. Weylie Seconded by Councillor K. Galloway "That an in-camera meeting of City Council be held immediately following this special meeting to consider a land acquisition /disposition matter, a personal matter and two matters subject to solicitor-client privilege." Carried. The meeting then recessed at 6:42 p. m. and re-convened at 9:28 p. m., chaired by Mayor C. Zehr with all members present except Councillor G. Lorentz. Council considered a recommendation arising from the Development & Technical Services Committee meeting held this date concerning a demolition control application for 79 Florence Avenue. Moved by Councillor C. Weylie Seconded by Councillor J. Gazzola "That Demolition Control Application DC10/03/F/ATP requesting permission to demolish one (1) single detached dwelling located at 79 Florence Avenue, owned by John Sajkunovic, legally described as Plan 308, Lot 65, Pt Lot 64, be approved without conditions. Carried. Moved by Councillor J. Smola Seconded by Councillor B. Vrbanovic "That leave be given the Mover and Seconder to introduce a by-law to confirm all actions and proceedings of the Council and that the same be taken as read a first, second and third times, be finally passed and numbered 2010-088 by the Clerk." Carried. On motion the meeting adjourned at 9:29 p. m. MAYOR CLERK
