Gosse, Director of Legislated Services/City Clerk PREPARED BY: Patricia Harris, Manager of Licensing WARD(S) INVOLVED: 6 DATE OF REPORT: June 9, 2010 REPORT NO.: CRPS-10-104 SUBJECT: REQUEST TO SELL FOOD & MERCHANDISE IN VICTORIA PARK - JUNE 29, 2010 - THE RECORD RECOMMENDATION: That the request of The Record to sell food and merchandise in Victoria Park on June 29 or June 30, 2010 (rain date) be approved, provided the necessary licences, including Health approval is obtained; and That The Record be granted an exemption from Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code in conjunction with an event in Victoria Park on June 29 or June 30, 2010 (rain date) from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. subject to the following conditions: 1. All sound will be turned off by 11:00 p.m. 2. The Victoria Park Working Group be notified 3. The organizers will provide contact information for an on-site contact person in the event that a concern is received. BACKGROUND: Council Policy requires Council’s approval prior to a licence being issued to allow sales of food and merchandise on City property. REPORT: A request has been received from Don Chapman, Manager of Special Events on behalf of The Record requesting permission to sell food and merchandise at a Family Movie Night sponsored by the Record on June 29, 2010 or June 30, 2010 (rain date).
