(Host of the Downtown Kitchener Ribfest and Craft Beer Show) for services provided for the 2010 event; and further, That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute a one-year Agreement with the Impact Events Group Inc., said Agreement to be subject to the satisfaction of the City Solicitor. BACKGROUND: The Downtown Kitchener Ribfest and Craft Beer Show has been held in Victoria Park since 2004 and features professional Rib and Chicken BBQ Teams and Craft Breweries from around the province. The event also features a small stage with local entertainment and a small child focused midway. The event, scheduled to be run July 16-18, 2010 attracts several thousand people over the three days of operation. After the 2009 event, the three-year agreement which was in place with the event organizer expired and a new one-year agreement has been negotiated. REPORT: The Downtown Kitchener Ribfest and Craft Beer Show has been receiving City support in terms of in-kind services for the past five years. The previous multi-year agreement has expired and the new one-year agreement defines new services and responsibilites for each party. The event organizer is now responsible for all actual costs incurred by the City for the services agreed to, as well as any additional services the City deems necessary to facilitate the safe and healthy delivery of the event. Limited in-kind services including the use of staging, providing water standpipe installation, marketing within City marketing programs where available and an event coordinator to facilitate the operations of the event will be provided by the City. î ó ï The event has been brought to the Victoria Park Working Group for comment and there were no objections to the event being hosted in the park. Concerns around parking on streets adjacent to Victoria Park have been reviewed with the organizer. The organizer has also met with the regional Liquor Inspector and has outlined their security and alcohol risk management plan to the inspector’s satisfaction. COMMUNICATIONS: Event organizers have received a copy of this report. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None as all City related expenses for this festival are billed back to the event organizer.
