EXEMPTION TO CHAPTER 450 (NOISE) - ALEXANDER
COLVIN, 27 GRAYWOOD COURT
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to
Alexander Colvin for a wedding anniversary party at his residence at 27 Graywood Court, on
July 24, 2010, between the hours of 4PM and 11PM.
BACKGROUND:

Mr. Alexander Colvin is hosting a 50 wedding anniversary party at his residence on July 24.
The event will involve some activity in his backyard. As such, Mr. Colvin is requesting an
exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise).
REPORT:
Mr. Colvin advises that there will no live music being played and any recorded music will be
played at a minimum. He also advises that he will be contacting the adjacent neighbours to
advise them of the event beforehand. He has also agreed to provide contact information for
someone on site during the event, in case staff have to contact someone.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None identified at this time.

CONCLUSION:
Based on the circumstances surrounding this event, the By-law Enforcement Division does not
object to this request for an exemption.
