SUBJECT: E10-068 -Consultant Services -Installation of New Building
Automation Systems
RECOMMENDATION:
That Expression of Interest E10-068, Consultant Services -Installation of New Building
Automation Systems, be awarded to Morrison Hershfield Limited, Toronto, Ontario at their fee of
$54,000., plus H.S.T. of $7,020., for a total of $61,020.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Kitchener has received funding through the ISF program to upgrade and expand it's
current inventory of building automation systems. Facilities Management has identified ten (10)
facilities requiring new BAS systems.
REPORT:
In accordance with Chapter 170 of the Municipal Code pertaining to the Selection of
Professional Services/Consultants, a Consultant's Review Committee was established
consisting of M. Petricevic, Manager, Projects & Energy Management, P. Christner, Building
Manager, and L. Gordon, Director of Supply Services.
Expressions of interest were requested from four (4) known consultants relative to this project,
and by the closing date of Friday May 28th, 2010, three (3) responses had been received.
The Review Committee elected to award the project to Morrison Hershfield Limited, Toronto,
Ontario.
