HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRPS-10-128 - Exemption to Chapter 450 Noise - The Father's House ChurchREPORT REPORT TO: Finance and Corporate Services Committee DATE OF MEETING: August 23, 2010 SUBMITTED BY: Troy Speck, General Manager of Corporate Services PREPARED BY: Shayne Turner, Director of By-law Enforcement WARD(S) INVOLVED: West-Victoria Park DATE OF REPORT: August 10, 2010 REPORT NO.: CRPS-10-128 SUBJECT: EXEMPTION TO CHAPTER 450 (NOISE) - THE FATHER'S HOUSE CHURCH RECOMMENDATION: That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to The Father’s House Church for their “Love Your City” event at Victoria Park on August 28, 2010, between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.. BACKGROUND: The Father’s House Church is holding a “Love Your City” event in Victoria Park on the afternoon th of August 28. This free event will include a bbq, kid’s games and some live music. As such, they have applied for an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise). REPORT: The organizers indicate that there will be 3-4 sessions of live music for approximately 45 minutes each. They will place the speakers in a direction away from any adjacent residential area and will provide information for an on-site contact person in the event that staff have to speak with anyone during the event. Information regarding this event will also be conveyed to the Victoria Park Working Group in advance. ï ó ï FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None identified at this time. COMMUNICATIONS: No Corporate Communications required. CONCLUSION: Based on the circumstances surrounding this event, the By-law Enforcement Division does not object to this request for an exemption.
