AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 530 (DOGS) OF THE CITY OF
KITCHENER MUNICIPAL CODE
RECOMMENDATION:
“That the draft by-law attached to Report #CRPS-10-135 be enacted to amend Chapter
530 (Dogs) of The City of Kitchener Municipal Code.”
BACKGROUND:
Upon review of Chapter 530 (Dogs), a housekeeping amendment is required to amend the right
of entry section.
REPORT:
This is an amendment to our dog by-law to allow an officer’s right to enter premises for the
purpose of performing an inspection at all reasonable times. This amendment is in accordance
with the provisions of the Municipal Act, 2001.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no financial implications.

(Being a by-law to amend Chapter 530 of The City of
Kitchener Municipal Code with respect to Dogs.)
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend Chapter 530 of The City of
Kitchener Municipal Code as adopted by By-law 88-100;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kitchener
enacts as follows:
1. Section 530.13.2 of The City of Kitchener Municipal Code is hereby amended by
deleting the words “during normal business hours” therefrom.
