whether or not City partners with private sector or undertakes independently
ACAC should have input on the feasibility study’s terms of reference and scope
o
Arts community to be consulted during study
o
ACTION: Gabrielle Clermont attending September ACAC meeting to present information on
“Treehaus”. Staff to contact her to determine appropriateness of inviting the developer she
worked with to the meeting.

August 2010 - ACAC Minutes
ARTS AND CULTURE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (ACAC) MINUTES
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 CITY OF KITCHENER
This item comes from ACAC work plan and CPII recommendations
?
Capacity Waterloo Region and Volunteer Action centre both offer training for Board members
?
of non-profit agencies (for a fee)
City’s Volunteer Resources department doesn’t have the capacity to provide this kind of
?
training, instead, refers groups seeking to build board member’s skills to the Volunteer
Action Centre
City cannot compel groups receiving community investment grants to take board training,
?
and this sort of training may not meet the needs of all groups
Conestoga College now offers training course for non-profit managers
?
ACAC ideas:
?
Capacity Waterloo and Volunteer Action Centre could market their board training
o
programs to groups receiving city of Kitchener community investment grants
City could provide information to groups receiving grants about board training
o
opportunities
