OUTLINE OF CONCERNS FOR HIGHBROOK COMMUNITY
Noise wall’ is ineffective (as proven by the results of the RWDI sound study that was
commissioned. The consultants wrote that a “durable highway type noise barrier at 4m in
height, would achieve a maximum noise reduction of 8.8 dB”).
Thewooden 3m fence that we received, does not only confirm our protests of being
ineffective, it has enabled AutoBahr and Byma’s Tire to generate even LOUDER noise.
Auto Bahr performs services in the laneway and Byma’s Tire now uses a device that is
outright deafening and frightening to our children.
Our calls to By-law are not yielding compliance; Sound studies must continue to achieve
consistent reads of the noises being complained about
Further noise-studies must be performed (as promised by Shayne Turner). If an
‘accurate read’ cannot be achieved from our backyards; our homes were offered for an
nd
exact measure of 2-level noise
Bay doors should remain closed; Modification procedures will commence as a next step
(as promised by Jeff Wilmer).
If Byma’s Tire and AutoBahr staff are unwilling to keep the rear doors closed, the city
should begin legal proceedings to force compliance with the current Noise by-law.
