SUBJECT: T10-117 -Fire Hydrants & Related Materials
RECOMMENDATION:
That tender T10-117, Fire Hydrants & Related Materials, be awarded to Wolseley Waterworks
Incorporated, Kitchener, Ontario, at their tendered price of $39,972.72, plus H.S.T. of $5,196.46,
for a total of $45,169.18, with an option to renew for three (3) additional twelve (12) month
terms, subject to mutual agreement.
BACKGROUND:
Fire hydrants & related materials is an on-going maintenance, repair, and operational
requirement
This tender is based on fixed unit prices on an estimated representative sampling of fifty (50)
components used over the last year and the actual spend will depend on the level of
construction activity throughout the term of the contract.
The estimated average annual spend over the past three (3) years was $25,553.32.
REPORT:
Tenders were advertised publicly in The Record, on the City of Kitchener website and the
Internet through the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering Information System. Eleven
(11) potential bidders downloaded the tender document, and by the closing date of Thursday
October 21St, 2010, one (1) tender had been received.

The following tender was received:
Wolseley Waterworks Incorporated Kitchener ON $ 45,169.18
The tender was reviewed by S. Rudak, Buyer, who concurs with the above recommendation.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The materials will be held in inventory holding accounts and charged out as issued.
