References to Title and Position of General Manager
Deemed Reference to Title Deputy Chief Administrative
Officer
RECOMMENDATION:
That any reference to the title and position of General Manager in a City of Kitchener By-law,
Chapter, policy or resolution is hereby deemed to be a reference to the title and position of
Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
BACKGROUND:
As a result of the recent re-structuring of departments as part of the Organizational Design
Review the titles for the heads of the departments have changed from General Manager to
Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
REPORT:
The title of General Manager can be found in City of Kitchener by-laws, chapters, policies and
resolutions of Council. The most expedient and efficient way to address the change in this title
to Deputy Chief Administrative Officer is to deal with this generally through a resolution and
subsequently thereafter as changes are made in those documents, the new title can be
reflected.
Any Deputy Chief Administrative Officer may be involved or brought into a matter but where
ever possible staff should involve the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer most closely
associated with the nature of the matter at issue.
