Gosse, 2809 WARD(S) INVOLVED: n/a DATE OF REPORT: January 28, 2011 REPORT NO.: FCS-11-029 SUBJECT: HOUSEKEEPING AMENDMENTS – VARIOUS HR POLICES RECOMMENDATION: That the ‘housekeeping’ amendments to various Human Resources’ policies, as shown in Schedule ‘A’ attached to Finance and Corporation Services Department report FCS-11- 029, be approved. BACKGROUND: The changes to the corporate structure that were implemented in October and December, 2010, has resulted in the need to amend various documents of the city to reflect these changes including by-laws and polices. REPORT: The changes to the corporate structure which included a reduction in the number of departments, department names, changes in staff titles and, the reduction of pay bands from 25 to 14 that was implemented in October 2010; will require amendments to various documents such as by-laws and policies. These amendments will be brought forward in various reports for Council’s consideration over the first few months of 2011. The amendments subject to this report relate only to various Human Resources policies and in all cases are simply housekeeping changes to reflect changes in pay grade bands and staff titles. Staff deem it important that these amendments be made as soon as possible due to implications of these policies on staff and collective agreements.
