BACKGROUND: The Wyandotte Warriors is a group of residents who reside on Wyandotte Court. This group has held a street party on the court for the past 4 years, as part of the Festival of Neighbourhoods. The event includes a street sale, kid's games, a road hockey game, a barbecue, some outdoor music and a children's movie. This will be the 3rd year that the group has requested a noise exemption. REPORT: In 2008, 1 noise complaint was received regarding this annual event. Staff do not have a record of complaints registered with the event since that year. In addition, the group will be notifying the adjacent residential area in advance of the event. ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN: Approval of a noise exemption for this event supports the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as contained in the City's Strategic Plan. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: N/A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Everyone on this street is invited to the event and the organizing group will ensure that the adjacent residential area is also notified.
