SUBJECT: Declaration of Surplus and Sale -Block B, Plan 1107
Sunbridge Crescent, Kitchener
RECOMMENDATION:
" That the Corporation of the City of Kitchener's lands located on Sunbridge Crescent, in
the City of Kitchener, described as Block B, Plan 1107, be declared surplus to the City's
needs and sold to the abutting property owner at 23 Sunbridge Crescent for a total
purchase price of $4337.00 plus HST; and further
That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute the necessary documentation to effect
this transaction with the property owner, said documentation to be to the satisfaction of
the City Solicitor."
BACKGROUND/ REPORT:
The owner of 23 Sunbridge Crescent is interested in purchasing Block B, Plan 1107 from the
City in order to consolidate it with their lands.
Block B was originally intended to be used as a portion of the cul-de-sac but was never used for
this purpose as the actual cul-de-sac was constructed further to the east. The complimentary
portion of this turning circle, Block A, was sold to 20 Sunbridge Crescent in 1990.
The requested sale of Block B was discussed at the Property Management Committee and no
concerns were identified.
The property was value was determined by the City's Real Estate Service Provider, Coldwell
Banker Commercial Peter Benninger Realty.

ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:

The sale of surplus land relates to the foundation of Efficient and Effective Government as
defined in the City's Strategic Plan. The proceeds from the sale of this parcel will be placed in
the City's Asset Management Account. Thereby supporting the goal contained in the Financial
Management section relating to the investment and management of assets strategically.
