BACKGROUND: At the September 8, 2011 meeting of the Safe & Healthy Community Advisory Committee, on motion by committee members, a resolution was passed that endorsed the appointment of Zoe Naugler as Land Use Planning representative. REPORT: The Safe and Healthy Community Advisory Committee advises Council and staff on policies, programs and services offered either directly by or in conjunction with the City of Kitchener and that relate to the overall health of the city. On June 27, 2011 Council approved the appointment of two new committee members: Aimee Polevoy (Inner City representative) and Jacinda Cloutier (at large representative). On June 28, 2011 staff received a letter of resignation from Derek Bellamy, citing changes in career and scheduling. This leaves six vacant seats: (1) Suburban Resident; (2) Community-At-Large; (3) Representative from Law Enforcement; (4) Social Planning; (5) Land Use Planning; and (6) Business.
