Agreements are currently in place and all are due for renewal in 2012. REPORT: This agreement is a renewal of a previous 5 year agreement. The fire department negotiated with the dispatch contract customers and has adjusted the formula to reflect aper-call rate vs. the current rate. This per-call rate will reflect the actual annual salaries and benefit costs of fire communications and applied using the previous years actual call volume. We will be phasing in the increase over a three year period for Wilmot. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The agreement provides for an annual fee for service of approximately $41,500 and will be increased in a phase in over the next three years. The current rate is $28,000. 2012 actual fee will be approximately $32,500 and will rise $4,500 above base per year over the subsequent two years. These costs have been reflected in the 2012 operating budget. ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN: This aligns with E1.4 of the Effective and Efficient Government, to which we are continuing with a source of sustainable revenue to assist in reducing the reliance on taxes. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: This is an internal operational matter and will not require community engagement. ACKNOWLEDGED BY: Jeff Willmer, Deputy CAO, Community Services 1-1
