SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION REQUEST -STANLEY PARK
COMMUNITY CENTRE
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to the Stanley Park Community Association for their spring family event to be
held at the Stanley Park Community Centre on Saturday May 26, 2012, between the hours
of 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
BACKGROUND:
The Stanley Park Community Association, in conjunction with the Stanley Park Optimist Club, is
hosting a spring family event at the Stanley Park Community Centre on Saturday May 26, 2012,
between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. The Association has requested an exemption
from Chapter 450 (Noise).
REPORT:
The event will include a bicycle rodeo, the Skatium Park, children's games and entertainer Eric
Traplin. Given the parameters of this event, including their hours of operation, staff do not
believe there will be any significant concerns with respect to noise.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
contained in the City's Strategic Plan.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
