That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to Sherwood Music for an annual summer tent sale event to be held at 124
Ottawa Street South, on Saturday June 16, 2012, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00
PM.
BACKGROUND:
Sherwood Music, located at 124 Ottawa Street South, is planning a summer tent sale event on
Saturday June 16t". The neighbouring business, Braun Cycle, is also likely to be involved in the
event. Live music will be playing on an outdoor stage. As such, they are requesting an
exemption from Chapter 450 (Noise).
REPORT:
The event organizers indicate that the music will be family friendly and they intend to closely
control the volume. They also indicate that the stage will be directed away from the adjacent
residential houses.
Given the nature of the event and the event hours, staff do not anticipate a significant noise
concern.
