EXEMPTION TO CHAPTER 450 (NOISE) – 170 LOUISA
STREET
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to Sherryl Petricevic for a graduation party to be held at 170 Louisa Street on
June 30, 2012, between the hours of 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
BACKGROUND:
The Petricevic family is planning to host a graduation and birthday party for their children at their

private residence on Saturday June 30. The party will include people and music outside. As
such, they are requesting an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise).
REPORT:
The applicant advises that they will control the volume and ensure that the music is turned off at
11 PM. In addition, they will ensure that adjacent neighbours are advised in advance of the
event.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
contained in the City’s Strategic Plan.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
N/A

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
As this is a private event, there is no large degree of community engagement required.
However, the property owner will ensure that his adjacent neighbours are advised of the event
in advance.
