SUBJECT: Noise Exemption Request - 18 St. Clair Avenue
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to Tracy Derry for a private party to be held at 18 St. Clair Avenue on September
15, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..
BACKGROUND:
Tracy Derry is organizing an anniversary party at her residence at 18 St. Clair Avenue on
Saturday September 15th. As such, they have applied for an exemption from Chapter 450
(Noise).
REPORT:
Mrs. Derry advises that the music will be acoustical in nature and will be playing for
approximately 60 to 90 minutes throughout the evening. They will not be using an amplified
system. Further, she will be notifying the adjacent neighbours in advance of the event.
Staff advise that they have no record of previous noise complaints relating to the subject
address.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
contained in the City's Strategic Plan.
