BACKGROUND: Thermostatic mixing valves have been provincially legislated to control the temperature output of water heaters. This Tender is based on fixed unit prices and the actual spend will depend on budget availability. The estimated average annual spend over the past three (3) years was $196,512. The cost of the thermostatic mixing valves isrecovered as they are sold and installed with water heaters. REPORT: Tenders were advertised publicly on the City of Kitchener website and the Internet through the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering Information System. Documents were downloaded by seventeen (17) interested parties, and by the closing date of Thursday January 3, 2013, four (4) tenders had been received. The following tenders were received: ï ··÷ ó ï Bid Price Marks Supply Kitchener ON $284,166.75 * Yorkwest Plumbing Supply Inc. Woodbridge ON $287,726.25 Desco Plumbing & Heating Supply Kitchener ON $287,726.25 Emco Corporation Kitchener ON $287,726.25 Thermostatic mixing valve prices have increased four percent (4%) from the previous contract. The quotation was reviewed by B. Nash, Manager of Customer Relations, who concurs with the above recommendation.
