FEBRUARY 25, 2013 CITY OF KITCHENER
A special meeting of City Council was held at 12:33 p.m. this date, chaired by Mayor C. Zehr with all
members present, except Councillor B. Vrbanovic.
Notice of this meeting had been previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant
to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code.
Moved by Councillor B. loannidis
Seconded by Councillor Y. Fernandes
"That an in- camera meeting of City Council be held this date to consider a land acquisition
disposition matter, a personal matter and a matter subject to solicitor - client privilege."
Carried.
The meeting then recessed and re- convened at 6:01 p.m. chaired by Mayor C. Zehr and with all
members present, except Councillor B. Vrbanovic.
Council considered Finance and Corporate Services Department report FCS -13 -020 (C. Goodeve),
dated February 5, 2013, concerning an appointment to Heritage Kitchener.
Moved by Councillor Z. Janecki
Seconded by Councillor Y. Fernandes
"That Beverley Glenn- Graham be appointed to Heritage Kitchener as the Committee's
representative from the Civic Centre Neighbourhood Heritage Conservation District for a term
expiring November 30, 2014."
Carried.
Recorded Pecuniary Interest and Abstention:
Councillor D. Glenn- Graham as the person
recommended for appointment to Heritage
Kitchener is his spouse.
Council considered a recommendation arising from the Finance and Corporate Services Committee
meeting held earlier this date concerning appointments to the Safe & Healthy Community Advisory
Committee.

Council considered a recommendation arising from the Community and Infrastructure Services
Committee held earlier this date concerning appointments to the Cycling Advisory Committee.

"That Levi Oakey and Tyson Reiser be appointed to the Cycling Advisory Committee for the
term ending November 30, 2014."

Council considered a recommendation arising from the Community and Infrastructure Services
Committee held earlier this date concerning the draft Ontario Ministry of Transportation Cycling
Strategy.
Moved by Councillor K. Gal loway-Sea lock
Seconded by Councillor B. loannidis
"That the comments and recommendations related to the draft Ontario Cycling Strategy be
endorsed, as outlined in Infrastructure Services Department report INS -13 -017; and further,
That the proposed recommendations be submitted to the Province of Ontario for consideration
as part of the Ministry of Transportation's decision making process on the draft Strategy."

Seconded by Councillor K. Galloway - Sealock
"That leave be given the Mover and Seconder to introduce a by -law to confirm all actions and
proceedings of the Council and that the same be taken as read a first, second and third times, be
finally passed and numbered 2013 -020 by the Clerk."
Carried.
