Improvements to the lake were the first phase of a multi phased project to improve water quality and aquatic and terrestrial habitat in Victoria Park Lake and its upstream tributaries. The next phase of the project will provide improvements to the upstream tributaries from Victoria Park Lake through Filsinger Park. The objective of the improvements is multi-faceted; The naturalization of the concrete channel within Filsinger Park will increase terrestrial and aquatic habitat conditions within the channel to allow for upstream aquatics to prosper within the park and to enhance the downstream to Victoria Park Lake. The detailed design and construction of new stormwater management facilities in Filsinger Park will provide improved water quality control for the associated upstream catchment areas currently discharging uncontrolled stormwater downstream. The restoration of trails and pathways will be created to enhance the overall experience for the public within the park. An extension of the existing trail will create a formal connection to Victoria Park. The design and budgeting and phasing of the construction of the work is being completed in 2013. Construction will commence in 2014 and 2015. We will shortly seek public input at a public open house meeting in July. 1 - 1
