REPORT NO.: CSD -13 -113
SUBJECT: Kitchener Soccer Club Office Space Agreement
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute the renewal of a License agreement with
Kitchener Soccer Club for the use of office space at Budd park, subject to the satisfaction of the
City Solicitor.
BACKGROUND:
Kitchener Soccer Club is an affiliate of the City of Kitchener. The purpose of this License
agreement is to continue the relationship with the soccer club in regards to the use of office
space at Budd Park. In the past Kitchener Minor Soccer was responsible for the operation of the
entire Budd Park indoor facility. However, upon the restructuring of the Kitchener Soccer Club
the City took over the operations of the facility, since the facility was owned by the Corporation.
The Soccer Club continued to use the office space however. The license agreement serves to
continue the formal relationship in existence between both parties at Budd Park for use of the
office space.
REPORT:
The implementation of this License agreement will generate a revenue stream for the office
space that can be designated to offset some of the utility fees incurred through the operations of
the entire facility. The financial expectation will be to receive $ 3,840.00 per year.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
Community Priority: Quality of Life — "ensure that Kitchener achieves and sustains its vision of
broad community health and well being."
Diversity — "ensure that Kitchener embraces opportunities to build an
inclusive community."
Foundation: Efficient and Effective Government
Goal: Public Sector Leadership "To position the municipality as a leader in
public sector policy, processes and systems."

better the facility or assist with utilities located at Budd Park.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
The Kitchener Soccer Club is one of 44 Affiliated Minor Sports Organizations each of which are
actively engaged and supported through the Athletic section.
