SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION REQUEST—VICTORIA PARK
NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code
be granted to the Victoria Park Neighbourhood Association for The Henry Sturm
Green Festival on Sunday June 8, 2014, between the hours of 1:00 PM and 5:00
PM.
BACKGROUND:
The Victoria Park Neighbourhood Association is holding their annual Henry Sturm
Green Festival on Sunday June 8t". The event may include some live music. As such,
they are requesting an exemption from the City's Noise By-law.
REPORT:
By-law Enforcement staff advise that they are not aware of any complaints registered
with regard to past events and have no objection to their exemption request.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
contained in the City's Strategic Plan.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
N/A

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
The event organizer will ensure that the adjacent neighbourhood is apprised of the
event in advance of the event date.
