SUBJECT: FAIR OR EXHIBITION GAMING EVENT LICENCE FOR
KITCHENER-WATERLOO OKTOBERFEST
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City of Kitchener has no objection to a Provincial Lottery Licence being issued
to Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest to hold a Fair or Exhibition Gaming Event from
October 10 to October 18, 2014 at Bingeman's KOOL Haus tent, 425 Bingemans Centre
Drive, Kitchener.
BACKGROUND:
Provincial Lottery Regulations require Council's permission before a Fair or Exhibition Gaming
Event can be held in the municipality.
REPORT:
A request has been received from Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest requesting Council's
permission to hold a Fair or Exhibition Gaming Event at Bingeman's from October 10 to October
18, 2014.
A Fair or Exhibition Gaming Event is an event where no more than 20 games of chance or
mixed chance and skill are conducted, such as Blackjack and/or Wheels of Fortune. This event
will take place in conjunction with Bingeman's Festhall on each day of Oktoberfest.
This is an annual request which has been approved by Council each year for the past several
years.
