SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION REQUEST— SHERRY LANDRY—46 GRAVEL
RIDGE TRAIL
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code
be granted to Sherry Landry, for a wedding celebration at 46 Gravel Ridge Trail on
October 5, 2014, between the hours of 4PM to 11 PM.
BACKGROUND:
Mrs. Landry is planning to hold an event for a family member at her property, 46 Gravel
Ridge Trail, on October 5t". The event will include the playing of music outside. As
such, they are requesting an exemption from Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City's
Municipal Code.
REPORT:
The event organizer has ensured staff that she will be advising her neighbours of the
event in advance of the date. She is also providing on-site contact information in the
event that staff have to contact someone to address a concern.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
contained in the City's Strategic Plan.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

The event organizers will be advertising the event throughout the community in advance
of the event.
