SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION REQUEST—AUDITORIUM NEIGHBOURHOOD
ASSOCIATION
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code
be granted to the Auditorium Neighbourhood Association, for their annual
Waddlefest event taking place at Knollwood Park on September 14, 2014, between
the hours of 11 AM and 7 PM.
BACKGROUND:
The Auditorium Neighbourhood Association is holding its annual Waddlefest event at
Knollwood Park on September 14th. As such, they are requesting an exemption from
Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City's Municipal Code.
REPORT:
Staff are not aware of noise concerns having been registered during past events. Given
the nature and timing of the event, staff do not anticipate a significant noise concern.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
contained in the City's Strategic Plan.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
N/A
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
The event organizers will be advertising the event throughout the community in advance
of the event.
