HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil - 2014-09-08 SSPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 8, 2014 CITY OF KITCHENER A special meeting of City Council was held at 1:01 p.m. this date, chaired by Mayor C. Zehr with all members present. Notice of this meeting had been previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code. 1. CSD -14 -084 — NOISE EXEMPTION — AUDITORIUM NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION — WADDLEFEST Council considered a recommendation arising from the Community and Infrastructure Services Committee meeting held earlier this date. Moved by Councillor B. loannidis Seconded by Councillor K. Galloway - Sealock "That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to the Auditorium Neighbourhood Association, for their annual Waddlefest event taking place at Knollwood Park on September 14, 2014, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., as outlined in Community Services Department report CSD -14- 084." Carried. 2. CSD -14 -097 — NOISE EXEMPTION — CENTRE IN THE SQUARE Council considered a recommendation arising from the Community and Infrastructure Services Committee meeting held earlier this date. Moved by Councillor B. loannidis Seconded by Councillor K. Galloway - Sealock "That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to The Centre in The Square for an outdoor event entitled "Strange Fruit Australia ", to be held on September 12, 2014, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., September 14, 2014, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and the event's rehearsal period on September 11, 2014, intermittently between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., as outlined in Community Services Department report CSD -14- 097." Carried. 3. IN- CAMERA MEETING AUTHORIZATION Moved by Councillor S. Davey Seconded by Councillor B. loannidis "That an in- camera meeting of City Council be held this date to consider a labour relations matter and a matter subject to solicitor - client privilege." Carried. 4. BY -LAW FOR THREE READINGS Moved by Councillor B. loannidis Seconded by Councillor S. Davey "That leave be given the Mover and Seconder to introduce a by -law to confirm all actions and proceedings of the Council and that the same be taken as read a first, second and third times, be finally passed and numbered 2014 -108 by the Clerk." Carried. On motion the meeting adjourned at 1:03 p.m. MAYOR CLERK
