HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Minutes - 2004-01-12 SSPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 12, 2004 CITY OF KITCHENER A special meeting of City Council was held at 5:22 p.m. this date, Chaired by Mayor C. Zehr with all members present. Notice of this special meeting had been previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code. Moved by Councillor G. Lorentz Seconded by Councillor C. Weylie "That an in-camera meeting of City Council be held this date to consider a property acquisition / disposition matter and three matters subject to solicitor-client privilege." Carried. Council was in receipt of an internal memorandum (R. Gosse) dated January 8, 2004 regarding appointments to the Kitchener Public Library Board and the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Dogs. Attached to the memorandum were the applications received from interested candidates with respect to the appointments. Mayor C. Zehr advised that notwithstanding the memorandum, the appointments to the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Dogs will be made by the Dog Designation Committee as per the recommendation adopted by Council on December 15, 2003. Council then considered the applications from candidates interested in being appointed to the Kitchener Public Library Board and the following applicants were nominated: Brian Burnley, Len Carter, William Crossley, Dan Glenn-Graham and Diane Slimmon. The approved voting procedure was then utilized which resulted in Brian Burnley, William Crossley and Diane Slimmon being appointed to the Kitchener Public Library Board for a term ending November 30, 2006. Moved by Councillor M. Galloway Seconded by Councillor B. Vrbanovic "That Brian Burnley, William Crossley and Diane Slimmon be appointed to the Kitchener Public Library Board for a three-year term expiring November 30, 2006." Carried. On motion, the meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m. MAYOR CLERK
