Friday, May 8 3:30 p.m. — 11:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9 10:00 a.m. — 11:00 p.m. Sunday, May 10 11:00 a.m. — 8 p.m. Thursday, August 20 3:30 p.m. — 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 21 3:30 p.m. — 11:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22 10:00 a.m. — 11:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23 1 11:00 a.m. — 10:00 p.m. That the music at the Midway be turned down at 8:00 p.m. excepting those evenings preceding a school day when it shall be turned off at 8:00 p.m.; That the music must be turned off one hour before closing time on the evenings preceding a non-school day; and further, That the required licence be obtained prior to operating the Midway. 1 - 1 BACKGROUND: Council policy requires that prior to the approval of an application for a midway location, the proposed site and details as well as the dates and hours of operation be brought before the Finance and Corporate Services Committee to allow an opportunity to address the potential concerns of residents, and further, that the applicant be required to notify residents within 120 metres of the proposed midway location that it will be operating, dates and hours of operation and the name of the sponsoring charity. Council approved a similar request last year at this location. In 2014 there were no concerns or complaints registered with staff regarding the midway. The conditions as noted in the recommendation have been put in place to alleviate any noise concerns that residents in the surrounding area may have. REPORT: Correspondence has been received from Linda Homeniuk, Vice President of Homeniuk Rides Incorporated requesting permission to operate a midway at 1400 Ottawa Street South, Sunrise Centre from April 30 to May 10 and August 20 to August 23, 2015. The midway will be located between Home Depot and Wal-Mart in the overflow parking area. As directed in the by-law the Regional Health Unit and the City's Traffic Division have been advised of this request. No concerns have been indicated. ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN Quality of Life — Providing activities and events that bring neighbourhoods together. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Inform — This report has been posted to the City's website with the agenda in advance of the council / committee meeting. Consult — Ms. Homeniuk has been supplied with the mailing labels to enable her to contact the area residents. If residents have concerns they are invited to contact the Manager of Licensing to voice their concerns prior to the Finance and Corporate Services Committee Meeting.
