SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION REQUEST— 134 SHANTZ LANE
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to Lisa Miller for an outdoor party at 134 Shantz Lane between the hours of 6PM
and 10PM on July 25, 2015.
BACKGROUND:
Mrs. Miller is organizing a birthday celebration at 134 Shantz Lane which is taking place on July
25, 2015. This will be an outdoor event that will include live music. Thus she is requesting an
exemption from the City's Noise By-law (Chapter 450).
REPORT:
The event will include a live band playing from 6PM until 10PM. Mrs. Miller will be notifying her
neighbours about the event. Staff have made arrangements to have an onsite contact person
during the event to help address any concerns that may arise.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
contained in the City's Strategic Plan.
