SUBJECT: Fair or Exhibition Gaming Event License for Kitchener-Waterloo
Oktoberfest
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City of Kitchener has no objection to a Provincial Lottery Licence being
issued to Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest to hold a Fair or Exhibition Gaming
Event from October 9 to October 17, 2015 at Bingeman's KOOL Haus tent, 425
Bingemans Centre Drive, Kitchener.
BACKGROUND:
Provincial Lottery Regulations require Council's permission before a Fair or Exhibition
Gaming Event can be held in the municipality.
This is an annual request from Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Inc. which has been
approved by Council each year for the past several years.
REPORT:
A request has been received from Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Inc. requesting
Council's permission to hold a Fair or Exhibition Gaming Event at Bingeman's from
October 9 to October 17, 2015.
A Fair or Exhibition Gaming Event is an event where no more than 20 games of chance
or mixed chance and skill are conducted, such as Blackjack and/or Wheels of Fortune.
This event will take place in conjunction with Bingeman's Festhall on each day of
Oktoberfest.
There have not been any indications of concerns or issues with this event in the past.
