SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION REQUEST- STANLEY PARK COMMUNITY
ASSOCIATION
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code
be granted to the Stanley Park Community Association for a community
celebration at the Stanley Park Community Center on September 19, 2015,
between the hours of 10AM to 2PM.
BACKGROUND:
The Stanley Park Community Association is holding a 10 year anniversary celebration
at the Stanley Park Community Center on September 19th. The event will include
outdoor activities, games and a barbecue and will include the use of an amplified
microphone. As such, the Association is requesting an exemption from the City's Nosie
By-law (Chapter 450).
REPORT:
Given the time of day and the nature of the event, staff do not anticipate any significant
noise concerns resulting from this event.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
This request supports the Community Priority Quality of Life, as contained in the City's Strategic
Plan.
