ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN: Part of the work of the Safe and Healthy Community Advisory Committee is to determine how they can support the City of Kitchener's Strategic Plan. It is expected that action items of the committee will be chosen based on fit with their terms of reference and the City of Kitchener strategic plan. The Safe and Healthy Community Advisory Committee work plan continues to support the areas of Leadership and Community Engagement, Diversity and Quality of Life. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: No new financial and staff resources are being requested for the above-noted initiatives. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: As noted in the work plan, the Safe and Healthy Community Advisory Committee's work is firmly grounded in the intent, findings and subsequently developed goals and strategies arriving from community engagement. Efforts draw upon existing community expertise, and engage members of the public beyond committee membership and neighbourhood associations to other diverse groups.
