WARD(S) INVOLVED: Ward 2
DATE OF REPORT: September 14, 2015
REPORT NO.: INS-15-089
SUBJECT: On-Street Parking Regulations —Zeller Crescent
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That parking be prohibited at any time on the north (odd-number side) of Zeller
Crescent from a point 129 metres north of the western intersection with Zeller

have been reviewed.
REPORT:
Currently on-street parking is permitted on both sides of Zeller Crescent in its entirety
for a maximum period of three consecutive hours, as outlined in the City of Kitchener

emergency vehicle access and recommended that parking be prohibited at anytime on
one side of the road in this area.
Parking on both sides on this section of this roadway restricts two-way traffic and
emergency vehicle access. Transportation Services staff contacted Kitchener Fire for
comment on the on-street parking conditions on Zeller Crescent. After review,
Kitchener Fire staff advised that they were in support of prohibiting parking at anytime
on one side of the road through the curves at the north/east end of Zeller Crescent.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The recommendation of this report supports the achievement of the city's strategic
vision through the delivery of core service.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The approximate cost for sign installations for the roadway is $500 and will be taken
from the existing sign maintenance budget.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
INFORM — This report has been posted to the City's website with the agenda in
advance of the council / committee meeting. Residents were notified of this change via
letter in August 2015. No concerns were raised.
