SUBJECT: Memorandum of Settlement, Kitchener Professional Fire Fighters
Association ( KPFFA)
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Council approve the terms and conditions contained in the Memorandum of
Settlement dated November 26, 2015 to establish the 2015 -2017 Collective
Agreement with KPFFA;
AND FURTHER THAT the Mayor and the Clerk be authorized to execute
documentation arising there from.
BACKGROUND:
Following a series of collective bargaining meetings, the last occurring on November 26,
2015, the negotiating teams for KPFFA and the Corporation reached a tentative
agreement for a renewal Collective Agreement covering the period January 1, 2015 to
December 31, 2017.
REPORT:
The purpose of this recommendation is to ratify the terms and conditions contained
within the tentative agreement. KPPFA ratified the tentative agreement on December 3rd
and 4t" 2015.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The recommendation of this report supports the achievement of the city's strategic
vision through the delivery of core service.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The proposed settlement with KPFFA will be funded from within the approved 2015
operating budget and will be built into future budget estimates for 2016 and 2017.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
INFORM — The City will issue a media release to summarize the highlights of the
collective agreement following mutual ratification.
