Moved by Lori, second by Mark. Passed. 2. Follow up to Minutes ■ Nothing at this time Mark Paul Daniella McIntosh Kirk Zurrell 3. Subcommittee Reports ■ Engaged Citizens — this subcommittee will be meeting today after the full committee meeting ■ Neighbourhood Strategy — subcommittee is continuing to work. Research is taking place at the subcommittee level of the Neighbourhoods Committee and information will be taken back in the near future for review and consideration on how to best use this research. Report will be going forward in June. ■ Youth — piece has been delayed and waiting for this to move forward. 4. Report Card - review committee input • Laurie provided an update to the committee on the mailing, which took place on Friday and has already received 18 signups. • Pete outlined the work that has taken place regarding the questions. Laurie summarized the feedback received via the committee member survey for the subcommittee to review and provide feedback on. This information will now be reviewed by the full committee. The survey should be able to be completed in approximately 15 minutes. As such, questions need to be very clear and concise, and feedback received should be easy to provide. • The committee discussed each of the sections considering in detail each of the possible questions. • Internet/customer service question — already doing survey on internet ease of use, so may not be the most effective question. Unsure if people have used internet site or call centre. This is also limiting, as there are many channels that information can be received via. • Concern with asking about downtown, given the current state of construction, which will likely remain for the next few years. • Support for start -ups would be good information to collect. • Collaboration within strong and resilient economy to assess how the city supports. • Would be beneficial to inquire how residents believe the city is doing on creating an environment for successful job creation. • Road Safety • Experience with recreation programs /opportunities. • Experience /satisfaction with cycling and pedestrian network. • Beneficial to ask about awareness of how tax dollars are used as well as the affordability of the city, to offer a link for value for money. • Laurie clarified, at this point we do not intend to gather demographic information. • It was suggested to include a short paragraph prior to each section to outline what each covers. • Subcommittee will be meeting December 9th to continue review and confirm questions, then will bring finalized draft to the January 13th meeting. It will then be shared with those who signed up to complete the survey. • Draft to be circulated prior to next meeting, followed by discussion for finalization at the Jan 13th meeting, any changes in the following days then sent out mid to late Jan. 5. Terms of Reference December 2, 2015 2 CITY OF KITCHENER ■ Laurie advised the Terms of Reference for the committee are out dated and require some basic updating. As such, she shared with the committee a revised version for feedback, reviewing each of the changes with the committee. 6. Advisory Committee Gathering • The Advisory Committee Gathering has been scheduled for February 23. Location is yet to be determined, suggestions welcome. A presentation will take place regarding the Strategic Plan, then considering an exercise to build on what committees developed at last Advisory Committee Gathering of the chairs. • Compass Kitchener members indicated it is always beneficial to learn about what other committees are focusing their work on — items from the work plan and how they are progressing.
