WARD(S) INVOLVED: Ward 5
DATE OF REPORT: January 18, 2016
REPORT NO.: INS-16-010
SUBJECT:On-Street Parking Regulations – Bridlewreath Street
___________________________________________________________________________
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That parking be prohibited at any time on the west side (odd-numbered side) of
Bridlewreath Street from Donnenwerth Street to a point 45 metres south thereof;
and further,
That the Uniform Traffic Bylaw be amended accordingly.
BACKGROUND:
Bridlewreath Street is a local roadway with primarily residential land use. In response to
a request, on-street parking regulations have been reviewed.
REPORT:
Currently on-street parking is permitted on both sides of Bridlewreath Street between
Mountain Laurel Crescent and Donnenwerth Street for a maximum period of three
consecutive hours, as outlined in the City of Kitchener Uniform Traffic By-law No. 2007-
138.
Transportation Services received a request to review the existing on-street parking
regulations. The request cited potential hazardous conditions attributed to parked
vehicles along both sides of the curved section of Bridlewreath Street and suggested
the removal of the on-street parking on one side by implementing a ‘No Parking
Anytime’ regulation.
