Date:3 February 2016
To:Environmental Committee
From:Josh Shea, Natural Area Coordinator
cc:Barbara Steiner, Senior Environmental Planner
Subject:Earth Day Activities 2016
Further to Barbara Steiner’s enquiry as to the City’s current plans for Earth Day celebrations in
2016, I have attached a list of events and activities that are currently being planned.
We have a few activities identified so far but the main one is the Kitchener Natural Areas
Program (KNAP) event on the 30 April 2016. There are also community clean-ups and the
GreenCity (City of Kitchener employees) committee was asking about the possibility of an event
for Earth Hour.
We are happy to support the Environmental Committee if they would like to run something or
get involved.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
