BACKGROUND: Kehl Street is a local roadway with primarily residential land use in the area between Hoffman Street and Ottawa Street South. In response to a request, on-street parking regulations have been reviewed. REPORT: Currently, on-street parking is prohibited on the north (even number side) of Kehl Street from a point 176 metres east of Hoffman Street to a point 182 metres east thereof and on the south (odd number side) from a point 193 metres east of Hoffman Street to a point 17 metres east thereof. Parking is permitted on all other sections of Kehl Street between Hoffman Street and Ottawa Street South for a maximum period of three (3) consecutive hours. Transportation Services received a request to review the existing on-street parking regulations. The request cited potential hazards attributed to parked vehicles along Kehl Street for vehicles exiting their driveways and suggested the removal of the on-street parking on one side by implementing a “No Parking Anytime” regulation. *** This information is available in accessible formats upon request. *** Please call 519-741-2345 or TTY 1-866-969-9994 for assistance. 3 - 1 Residents in the immediate area were surveyed on this proposed parking regulation change in December 2015. The results of the survey are as follows: In favour of implementing a ‘No Parking Anytime’ area on the south side (odd-numbered side) of Kehl Street from a point 159 metres east of Hoffman Street to a point 55 metres east thereof: 10 (83.3%) In favour of leaving the current regulation as is: 2 (16.7%) TOTAL 12 out of 55 - (21.8% responded) As indicated above,10 out of 12 respondents, or 83.3%, are in favour of prohibiting on- street parking on the south side of Kehl Street from a point 159 metres east of Hoffman Street to a point 55 metres east thereof.
