HomeMy WebLinkAboutSHCAC - 2016-06-02 - Item 3 - Neighbourhood Strategy Engagement Tools Date:May 11, 2016 To:Safe & Healthy Community Advisory Committee From:Michelle Drake, Neighbourhood Strategy Project Manager cc: Subject:Neighbourhood Strategy Engagement Process Why are we attending the safe & healthy community advisory committee meeting? From now until mid-August 2016, neighbourhood strategy staff and project team members will be engaging our community to get ideas for planning, building and supporting safe and thriving neighbourhoods. Our vision is to create a neighbourhood strategy that will help people connect and work together to do great things in their neighbourhoods. One of our main goals is to reach out to and collect input from as many people and as many neighbourhoods as possible. nd Neighbourhood strategy staff will be attending the June 2 safe & healthy community advisory committee meeting to seek input from committee members to help create Kitchener’s first neighbourhood strategy. The attached document entitled “Let’s create a Neighbourhood Strategy!” outlines the four ways to provide input. We encourage you to provide input in multiple ways. We will be using the street team method to seek your input at the committee meeting. Don’t forget to provide your input as a safe & healthy community advisory committee member and as a resident of one of Kitchener’s neighbourhoods. Are you interested in volunteering? Join our street team! From now until August, teams of volunteers will be going out to neighbourhood gatherings and events to gather ideas for making our neighbourhoods even better. Through short, one on one conversations, you’ll enjoy getting people excited to create Kitchener’s first Neighbourhood Strategy. Volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering at least once per month, with most events happening on evenings and weekends.
