NOISE EXEMPTION REQUEST MUDDERELLA
TORONTO, BINGEMANS PARK

RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to the Mudderella Toronto at Bingemans Park between the hours of 7AMto 7PM
onAugust 27, 2016.
BACKGROUND:
The organizer for Mudderella Toronto is holding anobstacle course event at Bingemans Park
onAugust 27, 2016. The event will take place outside, thus they are requesting an exemption
-law (Chapter 450).
REPORT:
This is the second year that Mudderella is being hosted in the Region at Bingemans Park.
Mudderella is a 5-7 mile long obstacle course designed for and marketed towards women. The
course comprised of 12-15 obstacles which are designed to test all-around body fitness,
willpower and teamwork.A sound system will be used to play recorded music throughout the
day. Staff did not receive any noise complaints when the event took place in 2015.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The aforementioned amendments support the Community Priority of Quality of Life, as
Strategic Plan.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
The event organizers are publically advertising this event.
