Ouroutdoorlearningspacewillincludeincreasingthebiodiversity(throughnativetree plantings/gardens),naturalplayfeatures,shade,seating,discoverycentres,waterplay,sensory elements,anddramaticplayareas. TheRockwayGreeningProjectwillhelpdevelopleaderswhowillcarefortheEarthandfortheir community.Thenewdesignwillalsobeopentotheneighbourhoodcommunitytouseduringoffschool hours.Thechildrenintheareaoftencometotheschooltoplaywiththeirparentsandthegreening projectwillgivethemamuchmorediversespacetoexploreandplayin. 1 - 1 EastwoodSculpture&ButterflyGarden/OutdoorLearningSpace IMPACT:EastwoodCollegiateL“­·z·Ò·;x­EnvironmentalGroupaimedtocreateaspacethatwelcomes staffandstudentstouseitasanoutdoorclassroom/gathering/performancespace.Weusespaceslike thisforextracurriculargroups(suchasDrawingfromLifeandEnPleinAirPainting)afterschoolandwe wouldlikeittofunctionasaschoolbeautificationfeaturethatincludedbeautifulartworkaswellasa naturalspaceforpollinatorsandmonarchbutterflies.Assuch,itwillalsoserveasalivingexampleof sustainablegardeningpractices. 1 - 2
